Sunflowers Oil on Panel

After nearly a month without painting I finally found the time to get back in my studio and paint this still life. We heat our home with a wood stove, consuming 5 to 6 cords of firewood per season. As a result I try to spend most of my time during the month of April cutting, splitting and stacking firewood in preparation for the next heating season. During the winter months I can spend days on end creating in my studio, guilt free. Come spring chores demand my time and I am forced to put down my brushes and get busy outside. Perhaps this is one of the reasons that winter is my favorite season of the year.
